3 Versoix – Founex Regatta in 2012
The Versoix-Founex regatta in 2011 was organized for the first time on our own, without any contribution from the CCS. Although the invitation was sent around to neighboring clubs, only two YCC Surprises participated in the event. This year we have tried to better advertise the event by publishing the Versoix-Founex race in the official ACVL calendar. The regatta still had to be cancelled, as only one YCC boat appeared during the registration. It is not clear whether the reason for the cancellation was a lack of wind or a conflict of date with other regattas. Thanks to Kai Baron, Jose Broto, Luca Canali, Tim Foster, Laurent Gouesclou, Sandrine Magnes, Tim Nguyen, Lorenzo Palestini and Michael Robert Trott for preparing a course. Unfortunately, the marks had then to be removed w/o the event taking place

4 Yardstick System for Dinghies and Catamarans
Previous YCC Yardstick numbers based on the accumulated YCC statistics were replaced in the middle of the 2011 season by the official French Yardstick numbers It appeared to be very good decision to accept the official system used also by the other neighboring clubs, like CNV

5 Match Races in 2012 Match Racing:
fiesta of duals, only two teams with boats of the same class competing against each other involves sailing rule-playing and many tactical decisions beside the typical boat handling skills This year we had: - 4 teams in the Dinghy (RS500) class - 4 teams in the Yngling class - 4 teams in the Surprise class It was just a pleasure to watch these ‘battles’ on the water. One race after the other, Round robin followed by final and the 3rd place, high competition, excitement on some boats, many penalty flags had to be hoisted….. The organization and the umpiring were extremely professional. Thanks to Patrick Diday, Christian Mester and Jenny Macgregor who organized Dinghy&Yngling Match Racing, and to Rob Veenhof for the organization of the Surprise Match Race

6 YCC Championship In total ~50 YCC members took part in the Monthly Regattas, about 45 boats were participating out of which 80% were dinghies and 20% keelboats Out of all dinghies, the new lasers1 were the most frequently used boats in the regattas Only the best 3 regattas are counted for the YCC Championship. This year the prizes will be awarded to the best and second best skipper

7 Regatta Participation -Statistics since 2003
The average number of keelboats per regatta has reached the lowest level so far, continuing the trend visible since 2003 However, this year practically only Ynglings participated in the regatta. Given that we have only 3 Ynglings, 1.5 boat per regatta is not a bad statistics. Different from the past years, we have the same start for Dinghies and Ynglings, such that on average we had 7 boats on the starting line.

8 Organization Regattas, as any club activity, were organized by volunteers. Special thanks to: Kai Baron, Riccardo Maria Bianchi, Thierry Boileua, Tom Brackenbuty, Jose Broto, Luca Canali, Jonathan Duplissy, Tim Foster (2 times), Ricardo Goncalo, Laurent Gouesclou, Peter Kostka, Ivo Lobmaier, Jenny Macgregor, Christian Mester, Sandrine Magnes, Tim Nguyen, Lorenzo Palestini , Sandra Tavares, Michael Robert Trott, Ursula Vogel, Tom Wilkins for providing assistance. Special thanks to the Q boat skippers: Rob Veenhof (3 times), Patrick Diday (3 times), Guy Bezou, Peter Bianchi, Vincent Lee Cobham, Giovanni Dadglio, Eduard Dorenbos and Tim Hancox Congratulation finally to all the regatta participants All the regattas were a great success
