Explain what is known about the shark, use pictures, demographics, etc. Create a line graph indicating how many times your shark has pinged during the 4 proceeding months. Explain your sharks track. Where was your shark initially tracked? When? Where does it seem to go? What is known about the shark? Teach us about your shark and the species of shark that yours is. Teach us about that particular type of shark species. Explain what we can do to help preserve sharks like yours. A minimum of 20 slides. Submit your completed PowerPoint file in Edmodo. Galeocerdo cuvier Tiger Shark (Galeocerdo cuvier)

2 How long is AB going to live?
Tiger Sharks can live up to a life span of 50 years this is great because I believe doing their years of living they eat and grew bigger and bigger.

3 What are you AB? AB is a dangerous tiger shark. Tiger sharks have that name because of the dark, vertical, stripes that they have on their bodies. The older they get the more they fade and almost disappear. You can tell by the picture of AB that he is very young and immature.

4 What does AB eat? The tiger sharks are carnivorous known for eating turtles and birds, as well as other sharks and fish. Besides normal prey they even eat garbage like tires, nails, or car license plates. Tiger sharks are known for having the widest food spectrum out of all sharks species.

5 More of AB’s Diet!

6 TBT: Me with AB when I was younger!

7 Mating Habits Along with other sharks, in order to mate, male tiger sharks have to bite onto the female sharks in order to keep them still and once they have them they will float to the bottom and begin mating. Luckily, female sharks are able to survive from these bites where as other animals would die.

8 Mating Habits, Continued
Female sharks mate once every 3 years in order to help their pups grow and gain their strength. Pregnancy’s last up to 16 months and litters have between 10 and 80 pups.

9 How fast are Tiger Sharks?
Tiger sharks are found worldwide in warm seas (tropical and subtropical). Tiger sharks swim at an average speed of 2.4 mph. They can swim in fast bursts, but can only keep these high speeds for a few seconds.

10 How big is AB and other Tiger Sharks?
AB is 9.7 feet long and weighs about pounds. His size shows us that AB is relatively young because most adult tiger sharks weigh over 1,900 pounds and are feet long!

11 Dangers of AB and other Tiger Sharks!
Although it is very rare for sharks to bite humans, the tiger shark is reported to be responsible for large percentage of fatal shark attacks and is sometimes regarded as one of the most dangerous shark species. They often visit shallow reefs, harbors, and canals, creating the potential for encounter with humans. The tiger shark is a very dangerous shark and is very vicious.

12 Fun Facts about Tiger Sharks, like AB!
The tiger shark's reputation as an indiscriminate eater that will swallow anything it finds, including garbage, has earned it the nickname "wastebasket of the sea." I can tell that my shark AB is very dangerous shark in the ocean and is dangerous around the seas Tiger sharks are endangered because they are used for food and pills and other goods. They are also hunted for sport. The Tiger shark is rarely a threat to humans. These are one out of three sharks to attack humans.

13 When and where was AB first tagged?
AB was initially tagged on March 28, 2016 in Fernandina Beach.

14 Where have you been, AB? This picture shows you all where AB has traveled since he has been tracked. AB is somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean but has not come to surface since January 10, 2017. He has traveled over miles.

15 Unfortunately, AB has not been at the surface long enough for the researchers to ping his location.
His last ping was January 10. His other last ping where he was located was May 4, 2016. Where are you now, AB?

16 Tiger Shark Preservation
Mass killings of tiger sharks due to fear from humans. Tiger sharks are near threatened meaning that if the killing continues then they will be endangered. Although sharks rarely bite humans, the tiger shark is reported to be responsible for a large percentage of fatal shark attacks, and is sometimes regarded as one of the most dangerous shark species. They often visit shallow reefs, harbors, and canals, creating the potential for encounter with humans. It is found in many tropical and temperate waters, and it is especially common around central Pacific islands. Its name derives from the dark stripes down its body which resemble a tiger's pattern, which fade as the shark matures.[5]

17 Tiger Shark Preservation - Continued
The main way to save the tiger sharks would be to stop the mass killings at the hand of man.
