Among his many responsibilities, astronomy figured as little more than an avocation (hobby)—yet it was in that field that he made his mark upon the world.

Copernicus’s work prompted others to continue his idea after his work, but he did not get recognized for his work until after his death (1543)
Brahe (Denmark) established the first observatories into space.
Kepler (German mathematician) wanted to prove Copernicus wrong and did just the opposite by determining the size of some planets an that they orbited around the sun (oval not circle orbits)

Italian Astronomer who created the first telescope used strictly for astronomy, explained the universe as we know it today. His theories proved, without a doubt, that Copernicus was correct in his theory.
