Year 7 Camp

Dates and Times Depart: Wednesday 18 October 2017
Arrive at BPHS by 8am for 8.30am departure Return: Friday 20 October 2017 Arrive at BPHS by 3.30 (may be later but parents will be notified via Facebook and SchoolStream) Payment due by 13th September

Accommodation Cabins Boys and girls at separate ends of the camp grounds Heating and cooling systems installed No other power in cabins Camping mat supplied Students to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow + case.

Accommodation Up to ten students in a cabin
One night will be spent sleeping in a tent outside. Students will take their mat, sleeping bag and pillow outside with them. They will leave their belongings inside the cabin. In the event of heavy rain or bad weather, students will remain in cabins.

Activities Pack and Paddle 4-5km hike 6km canoe
Complete one activity, meet for lunch and swap over.

Night Time Activities ONE NIGHT: Walk up Castle Mountain, followed by either disco, movie night, sock hockey etc OTHER NIGHT: Bivouac, campfire stories, spotlight game

Bivouac Camp in tents Cook own dinner using stoves and cooking equipment provided by camp Students are required to bring a hard plastic plate, bowl, knife, fork, spoon and cup. Then followed by campfire activities e.g. campfire stories, marshmallows and games.

Activities If, FOR ANY REASON (fear of heights, fear of water, poor swimming ability, injury), your child CANNOT participate in any activity, they will be given the opportunity to join another group. This may result in them doing the same activity twice.

Menu Breakfast: Cereal and milk, Toast and toppings, Pancakes and Maple Syrup, Fresh Fruit, Juice Morning Tea: Fruit and drinks Lunch: Hamburgers (meat, onion, tomato, pineapple, lettuce, sauce), Rolls (fillings can include ham, chicken, salad, cheese, tuna, lettuce) Afternoon Tea: cake, fruit, drinks Dinner: Beef Nachos, corn on the cob, fresh garden salad, garlic bread, jelly or ice cream OR Spaghetti Bolognaise, toasted marshmallows Supper: Hot chocolate, biscuits All dietary requirements will be met so please ensure it is on the note. Not liking something is not a dietary requirement.

What to Bring- DOs Torch Towel
Two pairs of joggers (one pair that can be thrown out if damaged by mud/water) Toiletries Enough clothes for the three days and two nights (also allowing for clothes to be damaged or ruined by mud/water) Jumper for cool weather Rain jacket for wet weather Sleeping Bag Pillow Swimmers Hat and suncreen Plastic Bags - for wet clothes.

What to Bring- DON’Ts Phones are great for some photos throughout the camp, however taking it abseiling or canoeing probably isn’t a very good idea. The Camp and school are not liable if they are lost, damaged, or stolen. Plus there are no outlets to charge them. Hair straighteners, hair dryers, make- up.
