Introduction – Beginnings of scientific researches Behavioral detection of the 21. century – VibraImage© VibraImage© - Micro mode VibraImage© - Macro mode VibraImage© - Lie Detector VibraImage© - Summarisation, advantages/disadvantages Conclusion
3
Beginnings of scientific researches
Aristoteles (384 – 322 B.C.) I. M. Sechenov (1829 – 1905), „Cerebral Reflexes“ Charles Darwin (1809 – 1889), „The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals“
4
Beginnings of scientific researches – cont.
Konrad Lorenz (1903 – 1989) Nobel prize winner (physiology and medicine) idea of measurement of the intensity and amplitude of reflection motion such measurement will enable aggression intensity measurement
5
Behavioral detection of the 21. century
prof. Viktor Minkin, CEO Elsys Corp., chief of the Research and Development department of the Russian National Research Institute Elektron

VibraImage - introduction
first version in 1995 principle: frequency (or amplitude) measurement using special camera special attention to facial parts head movements (incl. its muscles) the most frequent movements on human body in one´s life continuous micromobility (VER) head and facial muscles movements = vibrations 3 basic modes
7
VibraImage - Micro mode
8
VibraImage - Micro mode
observing, research and analysis of psychoemotional state of an individual vibration parameters (microvibrations) change in emotional balance = change of the internal energy detectable emotions: aggression, stress, tension/anxiety, suspect/inhibition, neuroticism, self-regulation, balance… detection speed cca 3s!!!
9
VibraImage - Micro mode, cont.
main output: external vibraimage („vibra-aura“), visualised emotions every emotion has statistically stated limits (in relation to installation region and local ethnic groups)
10
VibraImage - Micro mode, cont.
how to read „vibra-aura“: breaks in aura uniformity and mixed colours = currently unbalanced state of mind asymmetry = deviation colours – see previous slide ideal „vibra-aura“ symmetric, uniform in colour and shape potential dangerousness = summation of aggression, stress and tension degrees
11
VibraImage - Micro mode, cont.
example of aggression and strong tension, although trying to hide it and inhibit it
12
VibraImage - Micro mode, cont.
example of calm and balanced man and his „vibra-aura“
13
VibraImage - Micro mode, cont.
frequency histogram (green curve) micromovements frequency distribution abnormalities seen at first sight secondary use
14
VibraImage - Micro mode, cont.
conditions for correct function: person is sitting or standing without significant movements!!! frontal position, at reasonable distance glasses absence not too much make-up stable lighting intensity if possible, unicoloured background without moving objects (generally absence of external vibrations) black-and-white image (for better resolution)
15
VibraImage - Micro mode, cont.
applications: medicine and psychological researches psychiatric clinics oncological clinics Germany – bus transportation company (drivers´ fatigue detection) help in selection procedures airport security
16
VibraImage - Macro mode
17
VibraImage - Macro mode
produced in 2005 observing, research and analysis of psychoemotional state of a group and its members (face detection available as well) macrovibrations no work with „vibra-aura“ colours cover the human body and head spectrum beginning with no colour, then yellow (certain tension, nervousness) and orange one, ending with the red one potential dangerousness = mathematical evaluation according to red colour area satisfactory time again cca 3s!!!
18
VibraImage - Macro mode, cont.
19
VibraImage - Macro mode, cont.
20
VibraImage - Macro mode, cont.
statistics: Russian airports – daily approx. 20 suspects (other sources: 10% pax) ATTENTION! DETECTED TERRORIST!!! necessary to ignore fast moving personnel numerical parameters help with differentiation no frequency histogram any chance to cheat? No… no need for frontal view, other conditions for correct function remain the same as in previous Micro mode
21
VibraImage - Macro mode, cont.
potential errors sources multilayered dresses glasses changing lighting intensity (flashing bulbs) according to SPb. Airport statistics only 5% erroneous detections applications: controlled entry to buildings airport security
22
VibraImage - Mode Lie Detector
23
VibraImage - Lie Detector
produced in 2008/2009 individual application revelation of non/verbal lies first contactless lie detector ever!!! microvibrations, more than 40 independent parameters (for lie detection 8 – 12 parameters satisfactory) words unnecessary significant parameters changes observed in case of fears, excitement and lying CQ, RQ
24
VibraImage - Lie Detector, cont.
comparison of reactions to CQ and RQ conditions for correct function remain the same as in the previous modes examples of observed parameters: F3 … general mental energy of examinee (high level = high level of excitement/aggression lie) S2 … indicates movements asymmetry, incl. brain hemispheres activity (significant changes in this activity lie) P2 … MSD of frequency histogram (large scale lie) P5 … defines the most suspicious moments in reactions

28
VibraImage - Lie Detector, cont.
applications: criminalistics (South Korea, police) airport security (e.g. in suspicious rooms)
29
VibraImage - SUMMARISATION
advantages: modern contactless detection impossibility to influence results (unlike e.g. thermal cameras) fascinating detection speed (3s) low error rate (declared 5%) user friendliness continuous dynamic modernisation mathematical and graphical confirmation price acceptability (6000 $)
30
VibraImage - SUMMARISATION
disadvantages: in case the strict instructions for installation and usage are not followed, danger of errors (lighting stability, external vibrations and movements, light reflections…) need for calibration for given region need for perfect, precise and sophisticated technical training even unguilties detected in case they differ from others in any way
