1. Since 1984 Henk van Muijen has been employed by IHC
Merwede. He currently holds the position of Managing Director
of MTI Holland. MTI is IHC Merwede’s knowledge centre with
a strong focus on alluvial & marine mining and dredging
processes. Deep sea mining is one of the business cases of
the Topsector Water.MTI consists of a Research &
Development department, a surveying department, the Training
Institute for Dredging (TID) and the department Dredging Advisory
Services (DAS). DAS applies the developed knowledge in technical
consultancy, environmental impact statements and feasibility studies.
Besides these activities, MTI Holland also renders knowledge based
services to IHC Merwede like IPS (Industrial Property Support), IMS
(Innovation Management Support), KM (Knowledge Management),
Subsidy Coordination and support for CSR (Corporate Social
Responsibility) and Sustainability.
Besides his regular activities as managing director Henk van Muijen,
as a specialist, is involved in IHC’s projects concerning alluvial &
marine mining and mineral processing. Given his specialist
background he regularly publishes articles and teaches at the Delft
University of Technology.
