Scholastic Order: I will be preparing our first scholastic order this week. Please feel free to order online: and use our class code: KB9YT or complete the order form that will be sent home Monday, and send a check with your student by Friday, Aug. 26th. Thank you in advance!
Principal’s Coffee: New to the school parents are invited to have coffee with Dr. Faught-McCoy this Monday, Aug. 22 at 9am.
All About Me Bags: are due on Monday, Aug. 22.
This week we begin our normal rotations. Your student participates in many classrooms, & therefore will have a great responsibility for keeping track of their individual assignments, & lessons. You may visit their teacher’s websites for more detailed information.
Math: We will be collecting baseline data with STAR testing, & pre-assessments. Unit 1 highlights place value. This week we’ll look at place value to the thousands, millions, & comparing numbers.
HW: Your student will have weekly homework packets. They will be provided time during Study Hall to complete their assignments. Should they not complete their homework during that time, it is our expectation that it be completed at home in order to be ready for the next day.
1-1, 1-2, 1-3, & 1-4.
Science: This first 9 weeks we will study Physical Science. We begin with energy, and will be exploring speed, the transfer of energy, and motion.
Bond Issue Don’t forget to vote August 23!
PTO will be holding it’s first meeting of the year on Aug. 23 at 3:45pm in the library. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Parent Orientation is scheduled for Sept. 1. This will be a great opportunity for you to see what we have been up to in Hicksville, and learn more about our 4th grade expectations. More details to come!
Popcorn Sales & Birthday Books are an excellent way to support our library. Please be sure to send your student with the form and money as soon as possible.
