Educating the Next Generation of Physicians
Our School of Medicine has world-class research programs and a faculty of national and international renown who train the next generation of physicians to deliver expert compassionate care. With nearly 600 residents and fellows currently in training, Stony Brook Medicine offers graduate medical education in 54 specialty and subspecialty programs.

The Long Island State Veterans Home
The Long Island State Veterans Home, a 350-bed skilled nursing facility located on the Stony Brook campus, is integrated with Stony Brook Medicine to provide honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, their spouses or widows and Gold Star Parents with a comprehensive array of services.

Research and Development Park
The 246-acre Research and Development Park, adjacent to the Stony Brook campus, is anchored by the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology, a test bed for emerging wireless technologies; and the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center, focusing on innovative energy research, education and technology deployment.

Home of the Seawolves Stony Brook’s 20 NCAA Division I teams compete in state-of-the-art facilities, including the 8,300-seat Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium and a Sports Complex housing Stony Brook’s new 4,000-seat Island Federal Credit Union Arena. All teams compete in the America East Conference except football, which is a member of CAA Football.
