1 Mr. Clark’s Camera Settings
Nikon D3100

2 Portrait Setting The portrait setting on the camera has a longer shutter speed and a very wide aperture. Using this setting will pick up more detail in the foreground of the picture, the extended shutter speed will also allow more light to enter the lens.

3 Sport Setting The sport setting has a very fast shutter speed in order to capture motion. This lets less light into the lens of the camera. It also has a wide apature which picks up more detail in the foreground.

4 Slow Shutter Speed The shutter speed on this picture was manually adjusted for the shutter to stay open for 2 seconds (a normal shutter stays open for 1/250 of a second). This means that the image is exposed to light for a longer period of time. This lets in an extreme amount of light and is usually used for night time. A tripod is a must for long exposures.

5 Small Aperture Setting
In this photograph the aperture was set to a very small opening in the lens. This enables the camera to pick up details in the foreground and the background. A small aperture is usually used when shooting landscape.
