It is a festival that takes place only in Louisiana, Brandon’s home state. They have parades, parties, dances, music, food, drinks, and more!

Christmas! Always on December 25th. Here is a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments, gifts underneath, and stockings hung on the mantle over the fireplace. The idea is that “Santa Claus” will come on Christmas Eve and fill them up.

Halloween falls on October 31st every year
Halloween falls on October 31st every year. Although it is a “holiday,” it is not a “national” holiday, so no one gets to take off from work or school.

Children (along with some adults) dress up as various characters and go out “trick-or-treating” door-to-door, hoping to get some good candy or treats.

The idea is that if someone didn’t give them a treat, then they would pull a “trick” on them. However, it is uncommon for people to actually do this. During this time, many also like to watch horror or scary films.
