1 Islamic Health Care Beliefs

2 Health Traditional medicine in Islam is often referred to as medicine of the prophet. This is used as an alternative to modern therapies, or as a supplement to modern medical treatment. The Prophet Muhammad once said that “Allah did not create a disease for which he did not create a cure. Though people of the Islamic faith are encouraged to use modern treatment as well.

3 Some Traditional Remedies

4 Black Seed A black caraway or cumin seed (not to be confused by the kitchen spice) Originated from Western Asia Muhammad told his followers that this seed could cure all ailments except death This seed is said to help with digestion, contains antihistamine, anti-inflammatories, and antioxidents. Often consumed for repertory, digestive issues and to boost immunity.

5 Honey Honey was often mentioned by the prophet as a blessing, healing, and the best medicine. This is because honey is very pure

6 Olive Oil The Prophet Muhammad once told his followers “Eat the olive and anoint yourselves with it for indeed it is from a blessed tree. Olive oil contains fatty acids as well as Vitamin E. It’s consumed to promote coronary health and is used on the skin to increase softness and elasticity.

7 Dates Dates are traditional for the end of fasting. Dates help maintain blood sugar levels, and maintain blood sugar levels, and is a source of dietary fiber, potassium, magnesium, and complex sugars

8 Zamzam Water An underground spring in Saudi Arabia that is known to contain large amounts of calcium, fluoride, and magnesium.

9 Siwak Twigs of the Arak that are used as a natural toothbrush, and it’s oils are used in modern toothpaste

10 Moderation in Diet The Prophet Muhammad advised his followers to sustain but not to over eat.

11 Adequate Sleep (Quran 25:47 – 30:23) It is he who made the night a covering for you; and the sleep a rest, and he made the day to rise again.
