2. What is the Move on When Ready Program?
Georgia’s new dual enrollment program that allows high school students in grades 9-12 to earn college credit while working on their high school diploma.

3. What is the goal of MOWR? To increase college access and completion
To build confidence and encourage those students who may not be thinking about college to reconsider
To prepare students to enter the workforce with the skills they need to succeed

4. 2015 MOWR Legislation SB 132-Move on When Ready (MOWR) Program
High school students may enroll while in grades 9th-12th.
Earn dual credit-high and college at the same time
Wider range of course offerings

5. 2015 MOWR Legislation SB 2- New High School Graduation Option
Students complete at least the following state required school courses or their equivalent and take associated EOC exams
1 Health and PE Course
2 English
2 Math
2 Science
2 Social Studies
Student can then work to complete an associate degree, technical diploma or two technical certificate programs in a career pathway and all the training prerequisites for any state, national, or industry occupational certifications or licenses required to work in the field.
Student is then awarded a high school diploma and college credential(s)

6. Eligible High School Students
All students attending a public or private high school in Georgia or a home study program.
Must be approved and classified as eligible by the high school
Any 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grade student
No residency required
Must meet admissions requirements and deadlines at post secondary institution
Must have not already received high school diploma

7. Eligible High School Students
Must sign an advisement form with the high school counselor
May attend more than one postsecondary institution at a time and receive credit at both
Must meet satisfactory academic progress as defined by the postsecondary institution
Eligible for 3 semesters per academic year (Fall, Spring and Summer)
No limit to how many terms a student may participate, but high school advisement session is required each semester
Can be denied participation at any time for violation of secondary or post secondary rules

8. Eligible High School Courses
The MOWR Dual Credit Enrollment Course directory can be found on the MOWR webpage on GAcollege411.org
All approved postsecondary courses and comparable high school courses are listed on the course directory. The directory includes English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language, Career, Technical and Agricultural courses (CTAE) and electives.
The directory lists each participating post secondary institution and their courses.
Students can take online courses at the post secondary institute as well.

9. Applying for MOWR
Student should set up an appointment with their high school counselor
Student must complete MOWR application (found on Gacollege411.org website) and submit to high school each term.
Student must also complete the MOWR Participation Agreement
The application requires high school counselor and parent/guardian signatures.
The application is term specific and must be completed for each postsecondary semester or quarter of participation in the MOWR program.

10. MOWR Fees
Under MOWR, students are not responsible for any post secondary costs other than course related fees or supplies (lab fees, materials, supplies, tools or equipment)
Post secondary institutions provide required course books. Books remain the property of the postsecondary institution at the end of the semester/quarter.

11. MOWR/HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship
Core courses are included in the student’s HOPE high school GPA for HOPE Scholarship and Zell Miller Scholarship eligibility.
Core coursework taken as dual enrollment meets Academic Rigor Requirements and are given a weight of 0.5.

12. Impact on HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships and Grants Eligibility
Dual credit hours paid for by MOWR are not counted toward the attempted hours or combined attempted hours limit for HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship at the postsecondary level.
Dual credit hours paid for by MOWR are not counted toward the paid hours or combined paid hours limit for HOPE and Zell Miller Grant and Scholarship at the postsecondary level.
