2. ACT 1
Act One begins with the Rev. Samuel Parris praying for his daughter Betty who lies faint in her bed, suffering from a strange “illness”. Betty and Abigail, Parris's niece, and some of the other village girls had been surprised by Parris in the forest as they were engaged in a voodoo ritual led by Tituba, Parris' black slave. Betty fainted and still had not recovered.

3. Girls Just Wanna have Fun…

4. Until they get caught by Reverend Parris! EEK!

5. They get caught and Betty suddenly becomes "sick"

6. But wait, there's more…
Mr. & Mrs. Putnam , prosperous villagers, arrive and claim that the children are suffering from "the Devil's touch" at the hands of witches. (which includes their only daughter, Ruth)

RUTH PUTNAM IS “SICK” TOO!! What a coincidence!

7. So, Reverend Parris decides to Question Abigail about what really happened
WHAT DID YOU DO?
We only danced Uncle!

8. Doctors are called and Rebecca Nurse is called to see what is up with Betty
It must be un-natural causes. I can’t figure it out!

9. When the girls have a moment to themselves, Betty suddenly awakens!
YOU DRANK BLOOD, ABBY!

10. Rev. Parris decides to call for backup.
He calls the witchcraft expert, Rev. John Hale.

11. Rev. Hale questions Abigail first.
What was in the kettle? What were you girls doing?
Well, Tituba was singing her Barbados songs and conjuring.

12. Abigail blames Tituba.

13. Rev. Hale questions Tituba next .
If you confess, I can save you from the grips of the Devil!
Okay, the Devil did come to me. I wish to be saved now.

14. Tituba "confesses" and starts saying other girl's names.
If you confess, I can save you from the grips of the Devil!
