16 The First Step August 17 11:00 am

17 His stop in Marmora revealed his mission;
Part one Midway into the 14 day Walk, George felt strong, but frustrated. No one seemed to take an interest into two men walking to address substance abuse. Until they reached Marmora, and everything changed. August 22, 1997, on a very rainy day, George & Sam arrive in Marmora & are greeted by a Hotel owner. While they were getting treated to a great meal, they were told the famous story about Marmora. A few times over the years the Virgin Mary was claimed to be seen at a farm called Greensides. The hotel where they were asked to stay was next door, and some people were asking to meet George the next day. Both George & Sam were overwhelmed by all this, and agreed to meet these people. Unbeknownst to George, people were hearing that a liver transplant recipient was walking 500 kilometers This caught the attention of many people, including the ones seeing him the next day. The next day, George went next door to Greensides and prayed; While praying he seen a vision that would change his world for the next 5 years His vision was to walk across Canada to thank his donor & all the donors around the world; And to prove that organ transplantation was no longer voodoo medicine; it was a cure; He was going to try & convince as many people as possible to become organ & tissue donors.

103 France France had adopted the Opt Out System. They had a slow start, and corrected some things, and became more successful in their donation rates. George was interested in gathering information from this country, especially since Canada had a huge Franco population. George got rushed to the Beaujon Hospital by Ambulance June 13, The hospital saved his life literally, and his France contact Dr Esmeralda Luciolli became George’s hero. George stayed in the hospital till July 7, 2005, and he prepared an escape to get back to Toronto. The hospital could not allow him to go & become responsible in case he died on the plane. George had a gut feeling & so he had to escape. He received some help from Nurses & others as he arrived to a waiting plane ride to Toronto. He almost died on the plane.

106 When George arrived in Toronto, he was rushed to Toronto General Hospital. George felt at peace and again was ready to meet his Maker. Kris visited George and said you can’t die you have more work to do. A few days after he received his 2nd liver transplant on his 50th birthday. He survived because he had more work to do. First thing he had to was to present the overwhelming evidence that he gathered during the European Tour. Through his illness he managed to bring all the footage, & materials and 10 days after surgery convinced the hospital to arrange a press conference.
