WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?

2. Photoshop
Before 2014, when i started my media course, i had never used 'Adobe: Photoshop' before. I quickly learnt my way around the application and after completing my preliminary task, i was eager to get started on my main magazine. My skills have improved significantly since the preliminary task. I am now able to use the features much more accurately and believe that have a better eye for quality and proffesionalism.

3. I used the 'Lasso' tool to edit the pictures that i didn't want to have a background. I would simply 'Lasso' around the model and cut out the background after 'inverting' it.
The 'Move' tool was very useful for moving my images and texts from place to place, however, i didn't use this as much as i used simply the arrow keys on my keyboard to move images. The arrow keys move the image much slower and allow for better precision.
The 'colour picker' tool allowed me to chose colours that i had already used throughout my magazine to allow for more accurate matching, keeping the colour scheme perfectly consistent
i used the 'crop' tool to cut an image into the shape/size i wanted. Or i could simply cut out the things on an image that i didn't want and this made it easy to then place the image into position.
The variety of shapes allowed me to make simple 'flashes' that looked professional.

4. Camera
Prior to the course i had not ever used a high tech camera before. I soon learned the basics, which turned out to be all i needed. Any adjustments i just done on Photoshop. I did learn how to use the auto-focus, which you simply do by slightly holding the main button down before fully pressing it and actually taking the photo. Using the camera to take photos mainly gave me a greater understanding of how models should pose and what camera angles portray.
We had a studio set up in school which we used to practice taking pictures, we took pictures of different genres such as Hip-Hop and Rock. We also learnt how to change a photo by changing the lighting on their face or adjusting the backdrop behind them. By changing the lighting it could change the whole aspect of the picture. Also by changing the background colour the ‘mood’ of the photo and also bring out some features on a model (e.g. eyes, hair and lips). I often had to use the tripod for control as without one, the angle maybe slightly affected and it is also easier to edit the focus when the camera is completely steady.
