Literary Elements Describe the main character at the beginning of the story and at the end of the story. How and why does this change take place? How is the setting important in the story? How might the story be different if its time or place were different? What does the main character want at the beginning of the story? How does the main character go about trying to achieve this? A plot has a conflict, but the conflict isn’t always between two characters. What is the conflict in this story? How is it resolved? In a few sentences, what is the plot of this story? Literary Elements Characters are the people or animals in stories. You learn about characters through their words and actions or how others treat them. Plot is the important events of the story. Literary Elements What are foreshadowing and flashbacks? Foreshadowing is the use of hints or clues to suggest what will happen later in literature.
