Respecting differences & working together
By the end of this lesson you will have learnt: that everyone is unique, no two people are the same. You will have also learnt about your classmates differences and similarities.
3
If we look around the class it is easy to spot that we are all different in terms of our physical appearance. We are all unique. However, we all have our own character too and we all have particular likes and dislikes. TASK: Working in pairs, one person speaks and one person listens. The speaker has one minute to tell their partner all about themselves, their likes and dislikes, their family, pets and hobbies. The listener needs to pay attention as they are going to report back to the rest of the class. Think about what we discussed last lesson about listening!
4
Using the information you have just gathered about your partner, you are now going to create a Facebook profile for them. Fill in the answers to all the boxes Then add a picture of your partner (drawing or caricature)
5
Give your partner their profile
Show your profile to the person sitting next to you Now swap places with someone else in the class and show your profiles to each other It is very obvious that we are all very different people and yet we need to get on well together in order for school to work properly
6
Little old Weemee? Identifying what qualities & interests you have can help build up friendships We are going to make our own “Weemees” to show other people in the class where our strengths are.
7
Little old Weemee? Add clothes that you would normally wear outside school Add items that relate to your outside interests Add your own hairstyle Fill in the speech bubble with some of your better qualities
8
Little old Weemee? Find someone in the class who you haven't worked with today and show each other your weemee, explain your design.
9
And finally... Put all the work from this lesson in your folder
