Associate in Arts & Sciences BA in Visual Communication Design (80 credits) Department of Engineering and Design College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Why study Visual Communication Design? A major in Visual Communication Design educates and prepares students to conceive and create unique and meaningful solutions to satisfy the visual communication needs of society. Graduates are prepared to design experiences as well as artifacts, embrace change as a constant, and to work in collaborative environments. Theory and practice are covered in a variety of contexts, including process and principles, form and content, type and image, user-experience, and interdisciplinary projects. Current technology and future trends are addressed in the context of industry practices and community participation. Career Opportunities Career options for graduates with a degree in Visual Communication Design include positions in graphic design, Web, IxD, or UX design, multimedia design, advertising, printing, publishing, or related fields. A Bachelor's degree in visual communication design qualifies you for more upward mobility and supervisory roles.
