Appointed friends to government positions Called the “Ohio Gang” This gang sold government jobs, pardons, and protection from prosecution Forbes sold medical supplies and kept the money for himself Stole $250 million 1923 Harding left to go west Died in San Francisco on August 2nd Calvin Coolidge becomes president

Sold Private Interest groups to lease land in Teapot Dome, Wyoming and Elk Hills, California (Navy Oil Reserves) Took bribes totaling $300,000 In 1929, Fall became the first cabinet member to go to prison
