APPLICATIONS Modern Idols
“That to which your heart clings and entrusts itself is really your God.” Anything that replaces Jesus at the center of your life. It’s what you turn to instead of God to get what you want. Isa 44:20 ~ He feeds on ashes; A deceived heart has turned him aside; And he cannot deliver his soul, Nor say, "Is there not a lie in my right hand?" NKJV

APPLICATIONS Modern Idols
Glamor, glamorous people, physical beauty is “everything”; exercise Prov. 31:30; 1 Pet. 3:3-5; 1 Tim. 4:8 Sports, personal pleasure, material possessions, money, entertainment, FB, social media, etc. These are no different than the carved stump, if we think these will bring satisfaction, hope, happiness, or meaning in life.

APPLICATIONS Some treat the God of Heaven as if He were an idol.
A being fashioned by the imaginations of men. Psalm 50:21 – You thought I was altogether like you. He does not hear, see, know, or remember. He has to be carried as a burden.
