SECTION 1.2 NKJV

MAIN IDEA God is holy, which means He is perfect without sin, and always does what’s right. We are not holy like God because we are sinners. But through Christ we become holy in God’s sight and God’s Holy Spirit helps us do what’s right. [The Holy Spirit is one of the three persons of God. God is one God but three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.] NKJV

MEMORY VERSE REVELATION 4:8b "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!" NKJV

What makes a choice right/good or wrong/bad?
INTRODUCTION What makes a choice right/good or wrong/bad? Does God ever have trouble making right or wrong choices? NKJV

MAIN LESSON 1. God is holy. It’s who He is! That means He is perfect, without sin, and always right. NKJV

MAIN LESSON Revelation 4:8b "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!" NKJV

MAIN LESSON Psalm 145:17 The LORD is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works. NKJV

MAIN LESSON 2. We are humans that are sinful and born in sin, because we are all related to the first man, Adam, who was a sinner. We don’t always do what’s right, because we are not holy like God. NKJV

MAIN LESSON Romans 3:10-12 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who under-stands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one." NKJV

MAIN LESSON 3. If we want to know what is right, we have to look at the Bible to know who God is and what He wants us to do. NKJV

MAIN LESSON 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. NKJV

MAIN LESSON 4. Once we trust Christ as Savior, we become holy in God’s sight. The Holy Spirit lives inside us and helps us to do what’s right and be more like Christ. NKJV

MAIN LESSON Romans 8:9-11 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life NKJV

MAIN LESSON Romans 8:9-11, continued because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. NKJV

What does it mean that God is holy?
FAITH IN ACTION What does it mean that God is holy? God tells us to be holy, but we are sinners. How can we be holy? How does God see us after we accept Christ as our Savior? How will that affect the way you think and act in your day-to-day life? Who comes to help keep us from sinning? NKJV
