The Capabilities of Presented by Nicole Olivier

2 Features More than the basics......... Going paperless? Online consent
Scheduling Reports & progress Data quality Handheld devices It’s all in one place, even if the team is not There are a lot of great features to REDCap & many reasons to choose it over other databases. Here a re a few reasons I like REDCap. Mainly for features that allow the project to reduce paper, reduce the steps or interactions, maintain quality and reporting for progress or trends and reduce the time to capture or enter data. These are really all features that result in less time in executing the project and managing the project. Features

3 We have had 20-25% participate with online consent & follow up surveys
Go paperless Surveys

4 This is our 2 factor verification

5 Pipe back response >> >>
Save time & $, send their consent or responses back to them electronically for their records. Saves you from doing it. Pipe back response

6 Using SPIRIT checklist as an example
Event Scheduling

7 Create individual record schedule
Individual Schedule

8 Overall Schedule Populates study follow up schedule
Make notes against records or change status Overall Schedule

9 Use branching logic to display warning messages or give the green light when conditions are met and use HTML to make it stand out <div class="red" style="text-align:center;"><h3 style="text-align:center;"> Age is younger than 19, not eligible to participate</div></h> HTML

10 Summarize Longitudinal projects with multiple instruments
Pipe data forward to summarize record / fields Create & auto-populate instrument headers to verify record data on each screen/instrument Summarize

11 <div class=green><span style = font-weight:bold><u>PARTICIPANT SUMMARY:</u><p>Screening Date:<span style = font-weight:normal> [screening_arm_1][scr_date]</span> Name:<span style = font-weight:normal> [screening_arm_1][scr_fname] [screening_arm_1][scr_lname]</span> Age:<span style = font-weight:normal> [screening_arm_1][scr_age]</span> Location:<span style = font-weight:normal> [screening_arm_1][scr_ab_city], [screening_arm_1][scr_prov]</span> RANDOMIZED TO: <span style = font-weight:normal> [randomization_arm_1][rand_rand] Use these types of fields to verify the record or pipe data to one place and create a summary view

12 Track progress

13 Look for trends

14 Quality Cleaning data It takes 4x the time & money to clean data
Create field types with validations Set acceptable data ranges Create pop-ups to warn of data miss-match Use Data Quality Rules to find outliers, empty fields Use Queries to send requests to users to fix data Track data history for any given field and all logging in the project. Quality

15 Data Quality Make some rules, we are all human
The more people in the project, the more rules & field validations you need Data Quality

16 Mobile Use the web or the App:
Use Apple Configurator to set up profiles on multiple devices quickly Manage & track devices remotely with Meraki Handheld devices: lock them to the APP, or send a link to the participant. If you have remote sites, use them to enter data such as in ORs. Mobile

17 Meraki

18 If you can’t use the REDCap APP, you can still configure devices to lock on or only allow REDCap web access. Options you can execute with Meraki MDM
