4 Abstract This GSM based project is employed in Airports. At the departure time of the flights a number of things have to be kept in mind such as- Baggage collection, Runway clearance, etc. Depending on all these aspects we have planned this project for Airport. In the present scenario, while landing any aircraft a voice confirmation is sent from the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) to the pilot. After landing of the craft the plane is escorted to the parking where passengers are allowed to exit & collect their luggage. All the devices employed in lounge is manually accessed & this leads to lots of wastage of energy as well as time.

5 There are many chances of accidents as well owing to human error
There are many chances of accidents as well owing to human error. In this project we check the runway before landing, for this we have placed IR receiver & IR transmitter facing each other on both the sides of the runway. Pilot is asked to send the landing message to the base station. If the runway is free base station will send landing message to the pilot by GSM technology. In this assignment landing of the plane is shown by LED (demo purpose). After the landing escalators are sent for this we use DC motor (demo Purpose). We are also placing a IR obstacle sensor, this sensor will lead the baggage on the belt as it comes near to the sensor for this we are (demo purpose) using DC motor.

6 Problem Statement In the present scenario, while landing any aircraft a voice confirmation is sent from the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) to the pilot. GSM is used to send exact location of the respective luggage on respective passenger mobile phone. Provide a Safer, more Efficient, Streamlined Environment for Passengers and Staff.

7 Introduction The present situation in Indian airport is all using manual communication between the airport and aircraft. The airport personnel will manually check out for the climatic conditions, runway parameters, air traffic, and various other information and report it to the pilot. Having all the runway parameters, then the pilot decides whether to land immediately or wait for some time. In this process of manual operations, there may be some human errors occurring leading to disasters.

8 Therefore, to reduce the manual efforts and human errors, we need to have some kind of automated system monitoring all the parameters and functioning of the communications between the pilot and the airport personnel. The automation system should have the ability to control the air traffic, having the information about the airport. The communication between the air traffic controller and the pilot is setup using Global System for Mobile Communication Technology (GSM).

9 Further, the system has to make announcements to inform the passengers waiting for the arrival / departure of flights, and control the conveyor belt for the delivery of luggage.

16 Conclusion and Expected results
Nowadays many problem occur in airports. Main problem is mishandling of luggage during check out ,loaded to the correct airplane, etc. An interactive RFID-based luggage tracking system was proposed. The suggested bracelet involves passengers in the luggage tracking process. the interaction between RFID reader and RFID tag was presented. Furthermore, the design and implementation of the considered system were also discussed. With this solution, customers satisfaction in airports would be increased and mishandling cost would be lowered.
