New rules allow many more options for Replacement systems
(B)(5)- Provide app. Installation and operation costs of feasible STS options to assist the owner in selection of the STS design.
Example 1- SICL Grade 2 PSWT= 10” .4/.6 and 2.4 HLLR
Option 1- ATU w/chambers
360/.6= 600x1.25= 750 ft2
360/2.4= 150x.80= 120ft
2 ft trench 3 runs at 124ft (Field 14 ft wide)
3 ft trench 2 runs at 124ft (Field 10 ft wide) sand fill

3 ft trench with 3 zones- 3 runs at 76ft (Field 15 ft wide)
Option 3- Engineered Drainage w/leachfield= PSWT= 16”
360/.4= 900x1.25= 1125 w/ chambers= 844 ft2
360/2.4= 150x 0.80= 120 ft. long
Blount soils= Drain 4.6 ft deep spaced 22 ft apart

12. 2015 Site Drainage – 3701-29-16 Engineered drainage
Utilizes soil types to develop drain spacing and drain depth to achieve desired PSWT.
OSU used Drainmod to simulate 66 soil types
Drainage 6ft from up slope and 8ft remaining
Max 2” into restrictive layer as determined in soil evaluation.
Pipe 4” slotted
Slope at least 0.10 per 100ft.
Min. of 10” stone and trench width not specified.
Lift station can be used if fall not available.

13. 2015 Operation and Maintenance
All homeowners are required to purchase operational permit when purchasing an installation permit.
New fee for $125 for all Operational permit and is good for 5 years.
Service contracts required on NPDES and ATU (I)(2)
Registered service providers are required when system is utilizing depth credits (Mounds, LPP, Engineered drainage).
Homeowners can only do inspections on gravity leachfields without becoming a registered service provider.
If using ATU service provider must do service on entire system

16. 2015
Septic Haulers
Will not have inspection day at Fairgrounds. Instead setup time and days on individual basis.
Will accept truck inspections from other counties
Ensure the Pumping Report is filled out completely.
Turn in reports no later than 2nd week of following month
If pumping is required by SCGHD we need pumping report regardless if tank is pumped or not.
