8 4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. ~I Corinthians 2

9 28he vigorously refuted his Jewish opponents in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Messiah. ~Acts 18

10 Reconstructing a Church Fight…

11 1My friends, you are acting like the people of this world
1My friends, you are acting like the people of this world. That’s why I could not speak to you as spiritual people. You are like babies as far as your faith in Christ is concerned. 2So I had to treat you like babies and feed you milk. You could not take solid food, and you still cannot, 3because you are not yet spiritual. You are jealous and argue with each other. This proves that you are not spiritual and that you are acting like the people of this world. ~I Corinthians 3

16 4Some of you say that you follow me, and others claim to follow Apollos. Isn’t that how ordinary people behave? 5Apollos and I are merely servants who helped you to have faith. It was the Lord who made it all happen. 6I planted the seeds, Apollos watered them, but God made them sprout and grow. ~I Corinthians 3

17 If you’re not willing to admit where you’re at spiritually, you’re not ready to get where you’re going.

18 If you’re not willing to admit where you’re at spiritually, you’re not ready to get where you’re going. (If you’re not willing to admit you need milk, don’t even think about trying to eat meat.)

19 Where you’re at today defines where you want to be tomorrow.
How To Get where you want to be tomorrow.

20 You must be willing to start where you’re at or you will never get where you’re going!

21 We admitted we were powerless over our addiction - that our lives had become unmanageable and we came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. So we made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves, admitting to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

22 Will I manage my image at the expense of getting where I'm going or will I get where I'm going at the expense of managing my image?

23 Hanging pictures over the holes in your “sheetrock” will never change you!

(It’s real hard to get out of Egypt if you’re unwilling to admit you’re a slave…)

25 Week 5, Start Where You’re At!

26 23Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. ~Psalm 139
