1 United Cerebral palsy of mobile - preschool
Playground project 2017

2 Did you know? UCP Preschool is in cooperation with Mobile County Public School System Provides classes to 25 children ages 2 to 6 with and without disabilities Combines typical preschool activities with their individual regimen of speech, occupational and/or physical therapy Each student has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) This project can effect 150 children annually including our Preschool students and Early Intervention families

3 This project includes new safety surfacing and total replacement of the current playground. The plans shown in this presentation will allow us to achieve our goal of providing a space that will not limit any of our students/clients.

4 In addition to enhancing therapy, not only will the playground provide time each day for the children to enjoy the freedom of play and exploration outside, it also builds physical and social skills.

5 Our Current playground

Tree roots are an obstacle for individuals using a wheelchair or walker. The new safety surfacing will eliminate this barrier. Safety surfacing will also allow for quick drainage after wet weather. Ramp entrances onto the playground structure will ensure all individuals can access the play equipment New playground features will help with specific therapy goals and needs.
