1. Depreciation Activity
Using the Internet, find a used automobile of a popular make and model from (keep the purchase price less than $50,000)
Find a local auto dealership’s webpage or an online auto sales website which will include a picture, the price, and the current mileage of the car

2. Print 1 page (the 1st page) which includes the picture of your automobile as well as the price and mileage
On the BACK of your printed page, complete the following activity:
1.) Draw a vertical line down the middle of the page to divide it into two halves.
2.) At the top of the left side write: KBB
3.) At the top of the right side write: NADA
4.) Go to the webpage for Kelley Blue Book –

3. 5. ) In the “Used Cars” section, click the red GO button
5.) In the “Used Cars” section, click the red GO button. Enter the necessary information to find the current TRADE-IN value of your automobile
Remember to enter the current mileage listed on the car where needed
6.) Write “Current Value” on the left side of your paper under KBB and record the TRADE-IN value of your automobile according to the KBB website

4. 7. ) Return to the KBB homepage
7.) Return to the KBB homepage. Again, click the red GO button in the “Used Cars” section
8.) Fill out the same information to find the TRADE-IN value of your automobile with an increase of 35,000 miles on it
Enter the current mileage +35,000 miles when prompted for mileage
9.) Write “Value +35,000 Miles” on the left side of your paper under “Current Value” and record the TRADE-IN value of your automobile +35,000 miles

5. 10. ) Go to the webpage for N. A. D. A. – www. nada. com
10.) Go to the webpage for N.A.D.A. – Click on the CONSUMER section at the top of the page.
11.) Click on the START HERE button to fill in the necessary information to find the current TRADE-IN value of your automobile on the NADA website.
Remember to enter the current mileage of the automobile where needed
12.) Write “Current Value” on the right side of your paper under NADA and record the current TRADE-IN value of the automobile according to the website

6. 13. ) Return to the NADA homepage
13.) Return to the NADA homepage. Click on the START HERE button again and fill in the same information to find the TRADE-IN value with an increase of 35,000 miles on it
Enter the current mileage +35,000 miles when prompted for mileage
14.) Write “Value +35,000 Miles” on the right side of your paper under “Current Value” and record the TRADE-IN value of your automobile +35,000 miles
