WP 2 – Technological Harmonisation Task 2.1: Review of the current status of all fixed observing sites A common online base tool with Task 2.1 (deliverable 2.1.) was developed by OGS, MI and BlueLobster enables the users to have a complete information of characteristics relating to the site, including location, instruments and sensors, personnel working on the site and how and when TNA support will be offered. FixO3 General Assembly 14th to the 16th October 2014, Heraklion-CRETE

WP 2 – Technological Harmonisation Task 2.1: Review of the current status of all fixed observing sites The work consists in collecting and synthesizing all relevant technical information and defining the state of the art of hardware, software and middleware characteristics of each site under a common and searchable knowledge base. D2.1: Online knowledge-base for infrastructure characteristics, lead: OGS An online knowledge-base tool has been created to facilitate the choice of sensors, maintenance, energy supply solutions and data telemetry options. FixO3 General Assembly 14th to the 16th October 2014, Heraklion-CRETE

6 FixO3 General Assembly 14th to the 16th October 2014, Heraklion-CRETE
WP 2 – Technological Harmonisation Task 2.2: User Knowledge Base for TNA infrastructures The task provided users with all of the necessary information to prepare TNA proposals that are of high scientific and technical standards and that are fully compatible with the capacity of the observatory facility. A TNA brochure was issued containing information of the first call details, selection procedures, rules and schedules so as the available facilities by country. FixO3 General Assembly 14th to the 16th October 2014, Heraklion-CRETE

7 FixO3 General Assembly 14th to the 16th October 2014, Heraklion-CRETE
WP 2 – Technological Harmonisation Collaborations Close collaboration with WP3 on the organization of a common workshop on “Best Practices” where the tasks involved are: Task 3.1: Assessment of procedures: All procedures used within the network (maintenance, service, calibration, pre-deployment, data transfer etc) will be documented through the collection of protocols, which will be assessed during a common workshop. Task 2.5: Develop the "Open Ocean Observatory Yellow Pages” Task 2.6: Develop and promote sensor interoperability:  "This topic will be included in project training activities to be linked with WP12. This task will permit to manage an on-line community  of users and the results will be used to support the best practices principles that will be developed in task 3.2 “ FixO3 General Assembly 14th to the 16th October 2014, Heraklion-CRETE

WP 2 – Technological Harmonisation Collaborations ….. Collaborations Collaboration with WP4 on the harmonization of Data Quality Assurance across fixed platforms Actively engage with WP5 - Innovation through industry as we are hoping that by facilitating SME/industry access to TNA and the online tool we will promote interaction between the ocean observatory research community and the commercial sector to identify innovative products & services. Task 2.2 leads to collaborate with WP 7 - International and European networking of fixed-point observatories where the TNA is practically managed. It is within this WP7 that the associated deliverables for TNA call drafting and evaluation are located – the online technical tool feeds directly into this process. FixO3 General Assembly 14th to the 16th October 2014, Heraklion-CRETE

9 FixO3 General Assembly 14th to the 16th October 2014, Heraklion-CRETE
