It must be noted that the academic skill areas tested on the BASI should not be interpreted as the total universe of academic content to be addressed in DSCYF educational programs, but is a foundation of skills that will aid students to read and compute at a level that will enable them to successfully return to school and/or become employed upon exiting services.

Instruction Educational Planning Team (EPT) utilizes student needs identified on BASI to focus instruction in ELA and Math Correlation of READ 180, several Ferris courses, and Saxon/Glencoe Math to BASI

On-going Response to Instruction (RTI) Monitored
EPT meets on every student at least every 3 weeks to review academic progress, etc. Curriculum based measures administered to monitor process EPT tracks process on BASI learning objectives
