Was founded in 1979 with its seat in Bitola and institutions located in Bitola, Ohrid, Prilep, Skopje, Veles and Kicevo. It represents an association of 11 Higher education institutions and 3 Research Institutes

8. DESIGNING THE MACEDONOAN NQF
The starting point for the decision is the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Establishment of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), which entered into force on 23 April 2008.
The Recommendation encourages MK Universities:
to use the EQF as a reference tool to compare the qualifications systems;
to relate our national qualifications systems to the European Qualifications Framework by 2010;
to develop national qualifications framework in accordance with national legislation and practice where appropriate and
EQF.

9. NQF OBJECTIVES Three objectives are defined:
to make qualifications more transparent for educational establishments, companies and employees
to facilitate the process of recognition of qualifications and mobility of students and labor force at national and international level
and to promote the idea that qualifications processes should be based on learning outcomes
