1. The Data Load Process, or “How does new data get into Analytics?”
Analytics draws data from the BI Production database throughout the day.
About 6:00 PM most evenings, raw data begins to be Extracted from the transaction systems.
The raw data is Transformed, then Loaded into the EP Prod database via the ETL Process. This process is usually finished by 4:00 AM each day.
Meanwhile, Analytics continues to draw yesterday’s data from the BI Prod database
Once the ETL process is complete, and all of the new data has been loaded to EP Prod, UAccess Analytics switches over to draw data from EP Prod. Updated data is then pushed to BI Prod.
Once BI Prod is fully updated, Analytics switches back to drawing data from BI Prod.
