In your opinion, why is it important to discuss current events in history class?
Why is it important to understand multiple viewpoints/opinions on the same topic?
THINKER: Do you think you participate enough in history class? Why or why not? What would make you participate more? Explain!

2. Current Event Procedures
If you did NOT do your current event, you will complete the book work assignment for ½ credit. Remember, I do not accept late current event articles.
To start, you will be divided into groups of 4-5. (no duplicates!)
One-at-a-time, each person will talk about their event with the group. After they summarize the event, everyone in the group should contribute/share their own opinion. (~5 mins/article)
In the group discussions, you will be filling out a worksheet for participation points. You need to complete a section for each article.
Remember – this is a discussion activity, so everyone needs to be active in discussing. Be respectful of others’ opinions!
Once everyone is done, select the one article from the group that you think would be best for the class discussion.
