Private schools discount tuition significantly.
In average published tuition and fees at private not for profit 4 year colleges nationally was $33,480. Average net tuition and fees paid was $14,190. Net = tuition and fees minus grant aid. College Board – Trends in Higher Education

In Indiana there are 31 private, nonprofit colleges and universities.
In 2014/15 93% of ICI first time FT freshmen received gift aid. Averages: Institutional Gift Aid $17,978 (83%) State Grant ,572 (30%) Federal Grant ,005 (20%) Source IPEDS NCES

All schools that participate in Title IV programs are required to post a net price calculator. The calculator yields an estimated net price of attendance (cost of attendance minus grant and scholarship aid) based on what similar students paid in a previous year.
