WELCOME BACK!
We hope everyone has had a lovely summer break and is feeling refreshed and ready for the new term!
Friends of Dean School
The friends of Dean school would like to thank all those who donated to or attended the very successful Promise Auction last term, which raised over £1500. A sum of £1000 has been donated to school, kindly matched by a donation from Dean and District Sports committee and a new canopy has been erected outside class 1 to enable the children to use the outdoor learning area in all weathers.
Our next exciting social event is a James Bond theme night on Saturday 1st October. This promises to be a fun night with a difference! Please look out for the posters in school or the flyer in your child’s book bag. Thanks
Helpers in school
We welcome helpers in school to hear children read or to help in any way they can. If you feel you can offer time please speak to Mrs Martin.
Menus
As Mrs Stubbs finalises her menu’s over the next couple of weeks we will put them on the website.
M & M productions
We have M & M productions coming into school on 20th September to do a show for the whole school of Jack and the Beanstalk. We would really appreciate a contribution of £2 per child to the cost of this show. Thanks
Lost property
We would be really grateful if children's clothing, PE kits, coats etc could be named as it really helps us when trying to find homes for lost property! Thanks

2. Dates
One of the areas highlighted for improvement on our parental questionnaires was that parents would really appreciate knowing dates well in advance. To this end we have produced the following list for this term as best we can at this stage and will notify you if anything has to change. Further details of events will be sent out as appropriate nearer the time.
Tuesday 20th September from 6pm – induction evening for all classes within school
Friday 30th September 9.30 – 11am – Macmillan coffee morning in the school hall
Saturday 1st October – James Bond Night – Friends of Dean School
Tuesday 4th October – parent lunch
Half term – 24th – 28th October
Wednesday 9th November – parents evening from 3.30pm
Thursday 10th November – parents evening from 6pm
Thursday 24th November – Design and technology day in school – any parent helpers would be welcomed
Christmas lunch in school – 8th December
Community Carol singing – date to be confirmed
Dress rehearsal for Infant plays – Monday 5th December
