2 Cholesterol- Notes pg 8 Is a waxy substance used to build cells, hormones, and to protect nerve fibers. Travels in the blood Bad (LDL) cholesterol can build up in your arteries (Atherosclerosis) Limit to 300 milligrams of cholesterol per day

3 Sodium - Notes Is in Salt (Sodium Chloride)
Helps control the balance of fluids in the body. Too much can cause high blood pressure . Limit to 2,300 mg a day

4 Added Sugar - Notes Sugars and syrups that are added to foods.
Can cause tooth decay and weight gain Too much can damage blood vessels which then can lead to lots of other health problems. Limits: 10% of your total calorie limit 1 sugar cube = 4 grams 1 sugar cube = 15 calories

5 Caffeine - Notes Can: Limit to 100mg become habit forming.
make you jittery and shaky make it hard to fall asleep or stay asleep cause headaches or dizziness make your heart beat faster cause dehydration Limit to 100mg
