2. RockDrain Innovation history and drainage net
The RockDrain system was developed by tunnel experts with more than 45 years total experience from the tunnel business. Combined forces looked at the ide to invent a safe system that is, sustainable, has long lifespan, easy to install, low LCC, suitable for rehabilitations, build only 8 cm on the secured rock-surface.
The reason for this invention was that the tunnel industry used some systems with short lifespan, was affected by pressure and suction forces, some was highly flammable, difficult to install, some builds up dangerous pressure, difficult to repair when damaged, environmentally unfriendly.
The drain net is one of the key components in the RockDrain System; One net is one square meter and weighs only approx. 480 grams.
Installation is very easy.
The tunnel is completely drained and no dangerous pressure can be build up.

3. RockDrain The RockDrain tunnel technology – what is it?
RockDrain ℗ © ® technology is a patented tunnel drainage and waterproofing system developed in cooperation between Swedish and Norwegian tunnel experts in the last 8-9 years.
It consists of three main components; the drainage net, RockDrain ISO Lambda 0,12 concrete or RockDrain ADD (for conventional concrete)
RockDrain ISO 0,12 concrete is a innovative developed shotcrete that is water, fire and frost -proof.
RockDrain ADD third generation waterproofing includes NANO technology, is developed to make conventional concrete waterproof. Can be fireproof if wanted.
The patented drainage net leads the water down to the main drainage.
The drainage net prevent water to build up dangerous pressure in the tunnel.

RockDrain ISO 0,12 is to be delivered as ready mixed dry mortar from local factory or from our factory in Sweden.
Solbruk ADD - fthird generation waterproofing - is to be delivered from our factory to make the local conventional shotcrete waterproof.

6. RockDrain Some advantages with The RockDrain system;
Drained tunnel. No dangerous built up water pressure.
No need for undrained sprayed membrane that can build up dangerous water pressure.
The tunnel cross section is finished when RockDrain is installed.
High security, no dangerous components.
Builds only approximately 8 cm on secured cross section. Perfect for rehabilitations as well as new tunnels.
Low LCC.
Tunnel construction is completed in short time.
Tunnel diameter can be reduced. The amount of excavation, transport, energy, labour and machinery costs can be reduced.
The construction is monolithic, interact with the secured tunnel cross section.
The shotcrete interact with the security shotcrete layer. The RockDrain system is affected as little by pressure and suction forces as ordinary shotcrete.
Deformation that may occur in the tunnel is detected immediately.
The risk of cracking is dramatically reduced using Solbruk ADD in ordinary shotcrete or Solbruk ISO for frost zones.
Frost test (where needed); -21° C in 5 days, no freezing in the water drainage section.
Long lifespan years.
Repair and maintenance costs are dramatically reduced.
