1 PPR Production – What Is Available
ALICE Week – Offline day,

2 Overview I do not explain: where are the data and how to access them
What was done in the recent production Which macros were used I do not explain: where are the data and how to access them how to run users jobs to analyze data See Pablo’s and Predrag’s talks about AliEn if you need this

3 Proton - Proton AliEn round 2002-04, tag V3.08.Rev.01
10 runs, in each run 100 jobs, each has 100 events = events Many failed jobs run 11 for debugging Run 12 – again 100 jobs with 100 events each, to get number of usable events almost

4 Produced Data galice.root … header, gAlice, geometry + hits from all detectors MB galiceSDR.root … TPC and ITS digits, ITS fast rec. points, ITS slow rec. points, copy of gAlice object MB

5 Pb-Pb AliEn round 2002-03, tag V3.08.Rev.01
31 runs with different number of jobs Many failed jobs, mainly for jobs with many events per job Runs 1-19 finished, the rest to be done (now with V3.08.Rev.02, new round label:

6 Produced Data PbPb galice.root … header, gAlice, geometry + hits from all detectors its.rf.root … ITS fast rec. points, copy of gAlice object

7 Produced Data PbPb (II)
Run 00003, event 27: Aug 23 08: EMCAL.Digits.root Aug 23 08: EMCAL.SDigits.root Aug 23 08: galice.root Aug 23 08: its.clustersv2.root Aug 23 08: its.rf.root Aug 23 08: its.tpc.trd.digits.root Aug 23 08: its.tpc.trd.sdigits.root Aug 23 08: its.tracksv2.root Aug 23 08: muon.digits.root

8 Produced Data PbPb (III)
Run 00003, event 27 (cont): Aug 23 08: PHOS.Digits.root Aug 23 08: PHOS.RecData.root Aug 23 08: PHOS.SDigits.root Aug 23 08: rich.digits.root Aug 23 08: stderr Aug 23 08: stdout Aug 23 08: tof.sdigits.root Aug 23 08: tpc.clusters.root Aug 23 08: tpc.tracks.root

9 Macros – grun.C Macros on the web (alien.cern.ch), different for pp and PbPb Always named grun.C, only 1 huge macro (alien requirement) A new aliroot process for each macro option is started

10 Macro grun.C - pp Arguments = “ --round 2002-04 --run 00003 --event 66
--version V3.08.Rev.01 --grun gener,fastrecITS,sumdigITS,digitsITS,slowrecITS,digitsTPC --output galice.root,galiceSDR.root"

11 Macros - PbPb Too many steps to do, so options are just meaningless letters A,B,C,…P.

12 Conclusions A significant part of data ready – can be analyzed now!
