Oracle’s Roadmap to a Simple, Modern User Experience
Intro: We’re going to show you a new entry experience for our applications, which gives you the best look at Oracle’s user experience roadmap that we can offer. This is what we have been working on for Fusion Applications, but the strategy applies across all of our apps. Our goal is to simplify, reduce complexity, be seamless, be transparent. What does that user experience look like? Oracle’s Roadmap to a Simple, Modern User Experience Jeremy Ashley, Vice President, Oracle Applications User Experience

What did you just see? Is this Fusion or something else?
How did Oracle build it? (ADF) What devices is it available on? Are you going to do this on a smart phone? When can I get it? Are you going to have a beta program? How much will it cost? Can I extend this? How does this co-exist with my existing apps? Are you going to do product-specific modules? Let’s look at what our customers are doing. Their experience 15 years ago, walked in, picked up card, filled out paper. Now what do they do? Go to break room, sit behind computer, interact with computer, OS, browser, navigate to app, then do task. Difference: piece of paper goes in slot. #2 Interact with computer, before or after break. Is this Fusion or something else? Yes, this is Fusion. It is simply a new entry experience spotlighting the 10% of things you need to do most. Need to hit producitivyt message here. How did Oracle build it? This is live code. Running on pure ADF. No webservices. It is tied directly to the data in Fusion. What devices is it available on? Roy, what devices is this available on? <This is the same thing, running on an ipad. No new coding needed.> Mobile, integration with ADF, design patterns and FMW. Optimized for deployment. Total cost of ownership here? Are you going to do this on a smart phone? When can I get it? HCM will be available in release 7. Are you going to have a beta program? <not at this time> How much will it cost? <Need to find out from Steve what we can say> Can I extend this? How does this co-exist with my existing apps? Are you going to do product-specific modules? We are looking across the product families and product lines systematically, to see where this makes sense. And where it does, yes we will build a solution.
