Expectations The week is an adventurous outdoor activity week. All children are expected to take part/try all of the activities. They are not allowed to choose which activities they would like to do. Children are expected to work as a team to support and positively encourage each other. Children are not allowed to phone home at any stage as we have found in the past that this can aggravate homesickness. We will keep you updated via a Facebook group. Children are expected to have spent at least one night away from home, staying with non family members before the trip. Children are not allowed to take any electrical equipment; mobile phones, ipads etc with them. Teaching staff prior conversations with regards to activities – try to select activities they wouldn’t do in UAE
9
Expectations During their stay the children will also be asked to do some jobs to help the centre run as efficiently as possible. For example: Getting the weather report, Clearing up any games in the common rooms, Checking all of the equipment is out of the mini bus, Keeping the dormitories clean etc. This enables the children to develop a sense of responsibility as the activities do not start until everyone has done their job.
