Job Review Process 3.21.17 Recommendation Procedure Communication
1. The recommendation is made by either the Harvard Cahn School Review Committee (for non-exempt positions), or by the LMA Job Review Committee (for exempt positions). 2. The HR Partner will be responsible for communicating, via , the recommendation reached to the manager. 3. The manager is responsible for submitting the necessary paperwork to the department administrator in order for the change in level to take effect. 4. The manager is also responsible for notifying the employee of the decision reached either by or in person. 5. The HR Partner will send a written letter to the employee about any changes being made and a copy will be placed in the employee’s personnel file. For exempt positions, the HR Partners will compare job review requests against the University benchmarks provided by the Compensation Office. Key factors reviewed during this process include but are not limited to: technical expertise required, job complexity, leadership responsibilities , scope, and impact of the position. Procedure Submission The HLC Job Review Committee, consisting of HMS and Harvard Chan School HR Partners, meets on a weekly basis to review all exempt level job review requests and to make a recommendation Exempt HLC Job Review The HSPH Job Review Committee, consisting of Harvard Chan SHR Partners, meets on a weekly basis to review non-exempt job review requests For non-exempt positions, the HR Partners will compare job review requests against the generic HUCTW job descriptions, together with key factors listed above. Non-Exempt Harvard Chan School Job Review Average turnaround time for a job review, from when the form is submitted to HR, to when the written recommendation is ed, is between two to three weeks
