Our Journey Toward Greater Inclusion
A timeline for how the Kentucky Peer Support Project and AdsCORPS have developed within the Danville Independent School District

In the fall of 2013, DHS teachers attended a workshop facilitated by CKSEC. During this workshop, teachers’ interests were piqued when presenters mentioned the Peer Network Project. Interested teachers investigated and were inspired. orts.org Peer What?

Teachers attended the Kentucky Peer Network Project information workshop offered by CKSEC and University of Kentucky Human Development Institute and were INSPIRED!!!! Teachers reflected… Teachers bought the book… Peer Support Strategies for Improving All Students’ Social Lives and Learning (2009, Brooks Publishing) Teachers applied for the district to serve as a pilot site… Teachers waited and hoped… Teachers received the news… Teachers celebrated! ALL IN!!!

Teachers enlisted students and assigned titles and additional responsibilities

AdsCORPS leaders met with teachers – during formal meetings and for informal conversations – to brainstorm ways to expand and facilitate peer tutors, peer supports, and peer networks. AdsCORPS

Teachers attended another workshop… with students and parents… and were further INSPIRED!!!
