1 Non-Vascular and Vascular Plants

2 Nonvascular plants Have no “pipes” to transport water and nutrients.
They depend on diffusion and osmosis to move materials from one part of the plant to another. Ex. Mosses and liverworts

3 Vascular plants Have tissues that deliver needed materials throughout a plant, much as pipes deliver water to faucets in your home. There are two kinds of vascular tissue- Xylem: transports water and minerals through the plant Phloem: transports sugar molecules

4 Divided into two groups Plants that produce seeds
plants that do not produce seeds ferns, horsetails, and club mosses

5 Plants that produce seeds also fall into two groups-
Gymnosperms- Non-flowering plants Angiosperms- Flowering plants

6 Groups of Living Plants Nonvascular Vascular No seeds Seeds Gymnosperms/ Non-flowering Angiosperms/ Flowering
