BIOL 444: Algae and Bryophytes SPRING 2017 Lecture MWF 10:00-10:50 Lab Friday, 1:00-5:00 Prerequisite: BIOL 183 Topics Include: Diversity and evolutionary relationships of Algae and Bryophytes Collection and identification of Algae and Bryophytes Physiology and Biochemistry of Algae and Bryophytes Ecological and Economical role of Algae and Bryophytes Toxic and desirable substances produced by algae Uses of algae as food and fuel This course can be used to fulfill a “Biological Diversity Group” requirement or used as a Biology Elective course.
