Typically Puritans wrote theological studies & hymns
Puritans however wrote poetry Puritans didn’t produce fiction or drama They saw it as sinful Anne Bradstreet and Edward Taylor were two famous poets that emerged 1600’s

Puritans had a strong belief in education
In 1636 they founded Harvard College In 1647 the first free public schools were founded The New England Primer was first published around 1690 They published moralistic teachings such as “In Adam’s fall/ We sinned all.”

One of the first printed books in the colonies was, “Bay Psalm Book.”
Richard Mather served as a pastor and published more than 130 books in his lifetime Cotton Mather (Richard Mather’s son) published at least 400 books in his lifetime. That’s an average of about 7 books per year!!!!
