Watch unit 3 video Open the practice database.
Click the arrow in the lower-right corner of the Ribbon to minimize it. Use the snipping tool to take a picture of it and put it on this slide.

Maximize the ribbon. HINT: click a tab, then click the pin icon in the lower-right corner.
Resize the Navigation pane to make it take up less room. Minimize the Navigation pane. HINT: click the double arrow in the upper-right corner. Use the snipping tool to take a picture of it and put it on this slide

Click the double arrow again to maximize it.
Resize the Navigation pane to make it smaller. HINT: Click and drag the right border of the Navigation pane. When it is the desired size, release your mouse. Re-sort the objects in the Navigation pane by menu item. HINT: Click the drop-down arrow to the right of All Access Objects, then select “sort by menu items” from the drop-down menu. Now sort by “all tables” at the bottom.
Minimize groups of objects you don't want to see – all of them for now. HINT: Click the upward double arrow next to each group name. Use the snipping tool to take a picture of it and put it on this slide

Open a form, query, table, and report. HINT: double click on them. You can tell what they are by the icon next to it. Rename the top object. Change it from “customers: table” to “buyers: table”. Watch unit 5 video Open the Buyer’s table (the one you just renamed).
Add three new records to the table using each method shown in the video. Be sure to enter data for every field. Use yourself, your grandma, and an Aunt. Make up the information. Save each record after it is added. In the Records group on the Home tab, click the New command. On the Record Navigation bar at the bottom of the window, click the New record button. Begin typing in the row below your last added record. Use the snipping tool to take a picture of the new records and put it on this slide. Watch unit 5 video

Find the record with the name Sula, and replace it with Mickey Mouse.
Hide a field, then unhide it. Change the alternate row color to yellow. HINT: Select the Home tab, locate the Text Formatting group, and click the Alternate Row Color drop-down arrow. Use the snipping tool to take a picture of the new records and put it on this slide.

Open the Customer’s form by double clicking on it in the Navigation Payne.
Use the drop down menu to find the customer Patti Cheng. Change her address to your own address or make one up. Use Cleveland, Elmo, or Huntington as the city. Save the record. Use the snipping tool to show the form and paste it below. Go to the Buyer’s Table, locate Patti Cheng and use the snipping tool to show it in the table. Open the Orders form by double clicking on it in the Navigation Payne.
Create an order for Patti Cheng. Order whatever you would like to have. Use the snipping tool to add a picture of your order form to this slide.

Open the Orders Form. Create a new record with the following data: Customer: Eric Oglesby Pickup date: February 14, 2017 Order items: Cakes: Coconut (1) Notes: Write "Happy Valentine's Day!" with pink frosting. Pre Order: Yes Paid: Yes Use the snipping tool & add the picture to the right top of the slide. Open the form named Customers Form. Find the record for customer Dwight Parker and make the following changes: Street Address: 190 Cook Street City: Chapel Hill Zip Code: 27514 5. Use the snipping tool & add the picture to the bottom right of this slide.

Open the Buyers table by double clicking on it in the Navigation Payne.

Open the Products table.
Filter by product name and show all of the products that contain the word “chocolate” in the name. HINT: Select the word “chocolate”, in the sort & filter group select the “selection” button and then “contains chocolate”. Snip your results below on the left. Now remove the filter by selecting the “toggle filter” button in the sort and filter group. Snip your results on the right below.

Now change the filter to “butter” using a different method.

Open the Menu Items table.
Do a filter for how many of the products cost $32 or more. Snip and paste your results below.

Open the Orders table. Do a filter for all dates in period for March. Snip and paste your results below.

Open the query called Cakes and Pies Sold.
Apply a filter to the Product Types field that shows only Cakes. In the Sum of Quantity field, apply a number filter that only shows numbers greater than or equal to five. Apply an ascending sort to the Sum of Quantity field. Snip and paste the results below.

Start a query by going to the “create” tab and selecting the Query design button.
You want to invite customers who live nearby to an openhouse. Select the buyer’s table, click add, and close the window. Select the first and last name, street address, city, state, and zip code. Under the last name field, select ascending in the sort row. In the criteria row under city, type “Raleigh” in quotation marks. Also add another criteria under zip code. In the “or” row, type The “or” row means that it will look for customers who live in Raleigh OR customers in the zip code. Click the “run” button in the “results” group. Snip and paste it here. Save it as “nearby customers” using the save button on the Quick Access Toolbar. Watch unit 8 video

Create a new query. Select the Customers table to include in your query. Add the following fields from the Customers table to your query: First Name Last Name City Zip Code Set the following criteria: In the City field, type "Durham" to return only records with Durham in the City field. In the Zip Code field, type "27514" in the or: row to return records that are either in Durham or zip code Run the query. If you entered the query correctly, your results will include 15 records of customers who live in Durham OR in zip code Save the query with the name Customers who live in Durham. Select the two tables you need, click add, and close the window. Resize the windows if you need to to see the whole table. Double click on the fields you will need (customer’s name, city, state, zip, phone, & order number ID field. Snip a picture of the “join” line to show how it is when you start. Paste it below. 2. In the criteria row under city, type Not in (“Raleigh”) in this exact format. This will give you cities not in Raleigh.

In the criteria row under phone number, type like (“919*”) in this exact format. The * means that any phone number can come after the 919 area code.

Run the query to see the results.
Your results should show that your customers are not from Raleigh and their phone numbers begin with a 919 area code. Snip and paste your results below.

Create a new query. Select the Customers and Orders tables to include in your query. Change the join direction to right to left. Add the First Name, Last Name, and Zip Code fields from the Customerstable to your query. Add the Paid field from the Orders Table to your query. Set the following criteria: In the Zip Code field, type 27609 to return only records with a zip code of In the Paid field, type Yes to return only customers who have paid. Run the query. If you entered the query correctly, your results will include 20 records of customers who live in the zip code and have paid for an order. If not, click the View drop-down arrow on the Ribbon to return to Design view and check your work. Save the query with the name Paying Customers in Snip and paste the results below.

Switch to the design view by selecting it in the View drop down button.
Under city, sort in ascending order. Also select ascending in the zip code field. We want it to sort by zip code first, so drag the zip code column over to the left before the city column. Snip a picture and add it below. Watch unit 10 video

Drag the zip code column back to where it was after the state column.
Hide the following fields by unchecking their boxes: phone number and ID. Run the query. The data should be sorted by city and then zip code with the phone number and ID fields hidden. Snip a picture and add it below.

Open the Customers Who've Ordered from Nearby Towns query, and switch to Design view.
Add a Totals row to the query. Set the Totals row in the Orders Table ID field to Count. This will let us count how many orders each customer has placed. In the Customers table in the Object Relationship pane, double-click the word City to add another City field to the design grid below. Click and drag the City field you just added so it is to the left of the First Name field. It should now be the leftmost field in the design grid. Apply the following multilevel sort: In the leftmost City field, apply an ascending sort. In the Last Name field, apply an ascending sort. Hide the leftmost City field. Run the query. If you did it correctly, there should be 14 records in the query results. The first record should look like this: Snip your results on the right.

In the create tab click the report button in the reports group. Go to the layout view by clicking view button in the views group. Adjust the columns to get everything to fit on one page by dragging them smaller. Get rid of the zip code field by clicking on it and hitting the delete key. Also delete the title and empty cells. Scroll down to see that everything fits into the columns. Drag the page number to the left so it will fit on the page. Show ONLY the orders from December. Right click the “pick up date” column, go to date filters, all dates in period, and December. Put the dates in order. Right click the first date and sort oldest to newest. Switch to report view. Save the report as “December Orders”. Snip and paste it here. Watch unit 11 video

Open the Customers Who Live Nearby query, and use it to create a report.
Resize the fields so all of the information is on the left side of the page break. Make sure the columns still have enough width to display all of the text. Open the Cookies Sold report.
Add the date and time to the header. Add page numbers to the footer. Choose a new theme and theme fonts. Add a logo. You can use an image from your computer or download the Songbird Bakery logo. 6. Snip and paste your results below.
