1. Estimating Travel Times

2. Problem
Missed medical appointments negatively impact both patients and medical providers
Accessibility challenges may contribute to missed appointments
To investigate, a tool is created to estimate travel times (using public transportation) from any given set of addresses to the Children’s Hospital Primary Care Clinic in Oakland

3. A basemap containing ground features, bus routes, and the clinic location is prepared, along with a multimodal Network Dataset with Port Authority of Allegheny bus routes.

4. Service Area
Using the resulting Network Dataset, a service area map is creating showing travel time to clinic contours based on estimated travel times.

Travel time estimates were validated against established travel time estimates from Google and the Port Authority trip planner and found to be substantially consistent with other estimates.
