Hope for 2017 How God Restores and Uses Less-Than-Perfect People

3 Never look at your CIRCUMSTANCES or YOURSELF

4 (Pharaoh) The people of the sons of Israel are more and mightier than we. Come, let us deal wisely with them, or else they will multiply and in the event of war, they will also join themselves to those who hate us, and fight against us and depart from the land. Exodus 1:9-10:

5 (Pharaoh’s daughter) When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the boy was crying. And she had pity on him and said, ‘This is one of the Hebrews’ children.’ Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, ‘Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women that she may nurse the child for you?’ Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, ‘Go ahead.’ So the girl went and called the child’s mother. Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, ‘Take this child away and nurse him for me and I will give you your wages.’ So the woman took the child and nursed him. Exodus 2:6-9:

6 Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.
Acts 7:22:

7 Now it came about in those days, when Moses had grown up, that he went out to his brethren and looked on hard labors; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. So he looked this way and that, and when he saw there was no one around. He struck down the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. Exodus 2:11-12

11 Now Moses was pasturing the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. ...The angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed. 14 I must turn aside now and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burned up. When the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, ‘Moses, Moses!’ Exodus 3:3-4:

17 Then Moses answered, “What if they won’t believe me and will not obey me but say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’?” Exodus 4:1:

18 But Moses replied to the Lord, “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent—either in the past or recently or since You have been speaking to Your servant—because I am slow and hesitant in speech.” Exodus 4:10:

19 Moses said, “Please, Lord, send someone else.”
Exodus 4:13

20 Now in Midian the Lord told Moses, “Return to Egypt, for all the men who wanted to kill you are dead.” 20 So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey, and returned to the land of Egypt. And Moses took God’s staff in his hand. Exodus 4:19-20
