1 Studying Abroad during your Sociology Degree

Definitely push this year’s students to consider studying abroad!” study abroad is open to all single honours and joint honours students in your 2nd year (3rd year for Law/Soc), you can apply to study abroad during the following year your degree will be extended to 4 years (5 for Law/Soc). You will graduate with a degree in Sociology (or other Joint Honours degree) with Intercalated Year you must pass your Study Abroad year to be able to progress your marks abroad do not count towards your final degree classification, but they will appear on your final Warwick transcript

2 Financial Matters you pay Warwick an annual fee of £1350 (Home/EU) or £1800 (Overseas) but do NOT have to pay fees to the host university funding is usually available for students going to partner universities in Europe under the ERASMUS programme if you currently receive a student grant, you will still be eligible to receive it while abroad. If your household income is be- low a certain amount, you may also be eligible for additional support from the Student Loans Company to cover travel and other expenses for more information on study abroad, see the UG Handbook and the University and Department Study Abroad websites, or

3 Applying for Study Abroad for 2017/18
a list of the study abroad places for 2016/2017 is available on dy-abroad you can apply for Study Abroad for Sociology from TODAY and until Dec. 4th through the link above joint honours student have access to different Study Abroad opportunities through each department, and can apply through both or either of them. Do familiarise yourself with each one’s application process, as the procedures and timing vary significantly from department to department.
