What is Summer Bridge? First Year Seminar (FYS) sections that begin 2 weeks prior to the start of Fall courses 8 day program that gives students a jumpstart for college

Summer Bridge Dates August 9-12 & August 15-18 9am-4pm each day

Aspects of Summer Bridge
Meet Your Mentor (Day 1, August 9) Classroom Curriculum/Activities Writing/Reading Sessions (2 sessions) Math Sessions (3 sessions) Closing Ceremony (Day 8, August 18) Will include a mentor performance (shhh!) – all are welcome to participate Practice: Saturday, July 23rd 1:45-2:45pm in CE 405

Belongingness Build rapport with students as much as possible
Make connections across students Model and encourage students in contributing to the IUPUI community Warm students up to sessions and one another

Transitioning Connect students with resources based
on their needs/interests Assist in bridging the gap between high school and college Model professionalism, classroom etiquette, communication, etc. Importance of inclusion in modeling and creating a safe community
