French and Indian War Conflict between Britain and France fought in North America ( )

Native American Alliances
Indians fought on both sides. Most tribes allied with the French- the Iroquois Confederation sided with the British.

New France 75,000 French settlers, living mostly in Eastern Canada (Quebec, Montreal) Depended on fur trading and Indian alliances- not profitable

Consequences After the French and Indian War, Britain was in debt and taxed American colonists. Protests over these taxes led to the Revolutionary War and American independence
